Lyndhurst Village
Lyndhurst the 'Capital' of the New Forest is located between Southampton and Christchurch in the heart of the forest (follow the A337 into Lyndhurst from either Brockenhurst or junction 1 of the M27. Follow the A35 into Lyndhurst from either Southampton or Christchurch). This lovely little village, with its bustling high street, is a perfect choice for those who love to discover unique shops, charming tearooms, public houses, cafes and restaurants etc. The New Forest Information Centre and Museum, the beautiful St Michael & All Angels Church and the Reptile Centre are just a few of the attractions that can be found, both in and around Lyndhurst. The grave of Alice Liddell (Alice Hargreaves), who was the inspiration for Lewis Carroll's 'Alice in Wonderland', can be found in St Michael & All Angels churchyard.
Salisbury Cathedral
Salisbury is home to one of Britain's finest Medieval Cathedrals built between 1220 and 1258. Its spire is the tallest in Britain, the cloisters are the largest Cathedral cloisters in Britain, it houses Europe's oldest working clock and the World's best preserved, original 'Magna Carta'.
