Monkey World
The Tank Museum
Monkey World, Ape Rescue Centre, is located at Longthorns, Wareham, between Wool and Bere Regis. The centre is home to many different species of primates and is set in 65 acres of woodland, with a cafe, gift shop, toilet facilities, woodland walks and picnic areas. Monkey World has featured on many television programmes such as ITV's 'Nature Watch', Granada and the Discovery Channel's 'Monkey Business' and the BBC's 'Animal Hospital'. Monkey World is home to the largest group of chimpanzees outside of Africa and was set-up by Jim and Alison Cronin to provide abused Spanish beach chimpanzees with a stable and permanent home. Open everyday except Christmas day between 10am and 5pm (10am-6pm during July and August).
The Tank Museum is located at Bovington, near Wool and is clearly sign-posted from all directions. The Tank Museum houses The World's largest and finest collection of over 300 armoured vehicles, from many different countries. Everything from the unique World War 1 tanks to the latest British Army tanks can be found here. Open 7 days a week between 10am and 5pm. Also available on-site is a restaurant, gift shop, out-door play area, grass picnic area and a large car/coach park. 
The Isle of Wight
'WightLink' and 'Red Funnel' both operate ferry services, for foot passengers and vehicles, between the English mainland and the Isle of Wight. The routes available are Portsmouth to Ryde or Fishbourne, Southampton to Cowes, and Lymington to Yarmouth. This beautiful island is the perfect destination for a day trip or a relaxing break. With miles and miles of sandy beaches, loads of attractions and places of interest, picturesque villages and breath-taking countryside, the Isle of Wight is definitely worth a visit. The island is home to the World's oldest and largest sailing regatta, a week long event known as 'Cowes Week', where amateurs compete against Olympic and World champions. Due to the popularity of 'Cowes Week' it is advisable to book your ferry crossing and accommodation well in advance.
