Salisbury is an architecturally beautiful, Cathedral City located in Wiltshire and is known as 'The City in the Countryside'. Walking around the cobbled streets of Salisbury City you can see many half-timbered buildings and other historic buildings.

Salisbury is home to one of Britain's finest Medieval Cathedrals, built between 1220 and 1258. Its spire is the tallest in Britain, the cloisters are the largest Cathedral cloisters in Britain, it houses Europe's oldest working clock and the World's best preserved, original 'Magna Carta', which can be viewed in the Chapter House. The Cathedral stands in the largest Cathedral Close in Britain.

The National Trust owned Mompesson house is a fine example of Queen Anne architecture and is located in Cathedral Close. The house, now owned by the National Trust, featured in the film 'Sense and Sensibility' and is noted for its extraordinary plasterwork, fine period furniture and beautiful Oak staircase.

Salisbury Museum is located inside the Grade II listed, King's House, opposite Salisbury Cathedral, in Cathedral Close. The Museum houses many archaeological finds from Salisbury, Stonehenge, Old Sarum and the surrounding area.

Old Sarum is the site of the original Salisbury and Cathedral. A hill fort dating back to the Iron Age, located 2 miles North of Salisbury City, now owned by English Heritage.
